Chesterton Windmill & Burton Dasset Hills Bridal Fashion
Model, Hair, Makeup & Headpiece Design: Jay Jessop
Chesterton windmill and Burton Dasset hills are two places i wanted to use for a location shoot, and at the time a had a wedding dress made available to me from Maddy at the bridal boutique warwickshire. I approached Jay because i had worked with her before doing some beauty/lifestyle test shots and i wanted to work with her on a more creative level.\r\n\r\nI wanted a kind of Pagan/gothic approach to a bridal shoot and Jay came up with the idea of using her Mum’s wedding dress and making a head piece from an animal skull she found out on a walk.\r\n\r\nWe chose the perfect day as the sun was shining and there was a slight breeze to give movement to the hair and dress adding more drama to the images.\r\n\r\nFor the windmill shot we got there just as the sun was starting to go down which was perfect as i wanted colour in the sky, but i also wanted my bowens lights to light up the scene from different angles to make Jay and the windmill really stand out. I mounted the camera onto a tripod and exposed Jay with a 500w bowens head with soft box attached. Then i took a few more exposures of the windmill and using a second 500w head with standard reflector attached. I combined the exposures on the computer and increased saturation and contrast in post.
